Eastern increasing tuition by 13.5%

Eastern Michigan University announced a fall 2005 tuition increase of 13.5 percent under a new budget approved Tuesday that allows the university to issue bonds to cover improvements of campus buildings. Students would have seen their tuition bills increase by only 9.5 percent, but more money was needed to repay debt created by the bond issue. Wayne State is noted as increasing tuition earlier by 18.5 percent.
